INSIDE THIS COURSE

A world to step into.

One rainy evening in Seoul, Minji steps into a small bookshop to get out of the rain. She orders a cup of tea, meets the shop cat, and buys a secondhand book. When she opens it at home, a letter falls out. It has no address, but there’s a name at the bottom. The next morning, Minji goes back to the shop.

Follow her story in twelve short chapters written for beginner Korean learners. Read at your own pace and open English word hints as you go. When you see a form like 들어갔어요 (“went in”), the word card shows the dictionary form 들어가다 (“to go in”), so you can recognize it again when it appears in a different form.

Each chapter adds a little more Korean to what you already know. By the end, you’ll be able to read a complete story and use some of the same expressions in everyday conversations.

What you’ll learn

  • Greet someone, introduce yourself, and ask simple questions politely.
  • Order tea, ask how much something costs, and make a simple request.
  • Describe where people and objects are using 있어요 and 없어요.
  • Ask where a place is and follow simple directions.
  • Recognize common particles such as 은/는, 이/가, 을/를, 에, and 에서 in context.
  • Recognize familiar verbs in their polite present and past forms, and connect them to their dictionary forms.
  • Retell the main events of the story in a few short Korean sentences.

What’s inside

  • One complete story in twelve short chapters, with English word hints, dictionary forms for selected verbs, and short comprehension checks. Each chapter introduces one practical language point. A final review brings the story and its most useful expressions together.
